This ivory trimmed card includes a taupe border with tree branches of green leaves on four sides of the cameo image. Four Cupids rest in the center of each of these borders; the Cupids are either playing with their bow and arrow or interacting with doves in a birdcage. Center image, bordered in grey and white, depicts a young woman sitting on a bench under a flowering tree with Cupid standing next to her holding his bow and stretching his hand towards her. She is dressed in a blue and white dress with ruffled sleeves and is wearing blue hat. Doves are perched above her in the tree. Image has probably been drawn by Kate Greenaway, who illustrated many cards for this printer. Text inside entitled, "Cherry Ripe" reads: There is a garden in they face/Where Roses and while lilies blow;/A heavenly paradise is that place,/Wherein all pleasant fruits do grow;/Where Cherries grow that none may buy/Till Cherry Ripe themselves do cry./Those cherries fairly do enclose/Of orient pearl a double row,/Which when thy lovely laughter shows,/They look like rose buds fill'd with snow:/Yet them no peer nor prince may buy,/Till Cherry Ripe themselves do cry./Thine eyes like angels watch them still;/Thy brows like bended bows do stand,/Threat'ning with piercing frowns to kill/All that approach with eye or hand/These sacred Cherries to come nigh,/Till Cherry Ripe themselves do cry! The name "Richard Allison" is printed to the right under the last line of verse.
